This is your opportunity to serve the poor people of Croix des Mission. For information regarding the next mission trip in early 2012, contact Bob Parker at 863-7348.
The VIM Team needs your support to ensure the mission team can continue making these trips to help build the church at Croix des Mission. Make out your check to Lebanon UMC and write VIM HAITI on the memo line. If you have any questions, see or call Bob Parker at 603-863-7348. For more information click here to go to the 2011 VIM Mission Team to Haiti page.
LISTEN Dinner TeamEach Friday night, our church is home to the LISTEN Community Dinner, a free dinner offered through the LISTEN Community Services for any and all folks who come for FREE! Dinner is served at 5:15 pm. Our church provides the dinner team on the second and fourth Fridays to cook, serve, fellowship and clean up. One church volunteer is also needed on the first, third and (when applicable) fifth Fridays to assist outside dinner teams with using our kitchen and its equipment. For more information or to volunteer, contact the church office. Autumn Swans The “Autumn Swans” is the name chosen by a small group of women who were traversing the mid-life terrain and wanted companionship on the journey. The focus of the group is not strictly spiritual, although all current members are also active members of the Lebanon United Methodist Church. Together we have explored some of our questions and hopes about growing older. We’ve tried our hand at some new, creative challenges and also spent quite a few of our monthly just “hanging out” or going to see a play or concert together. Participation in the group is completely by self selection. If you think this appears to be something you’d like to try, contact the church office and someone will get in touch with you. Road Side Clean UpThrough the New Hampshire Road Side Clean Up Program, our church takes care of a two mile stretch of Route 120, heading south towards Claremont from the church. Three to four times each year, we gather to work together to care for the creation God has given us. People aged 14 and up are welcome to assist in this project.
United Methodist WomenThe organization know as United Methodist Women is recognized in the Church Discipline. Each United Methodist Church is encouraged to have a Unit. The PURPOSE as stated in "The Book of Discipline": "The organized unit of United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church" (P255.4)
Emphasis on mission is the primary focus of UMW. Our programs concern mission to women, children and youth; throughout this country and around the world. Thre are no "dues". However, each woman contributes in what ever way she is able toward the mission emphases. The Unit at the Lebanon church is small but active. Any woman can be a member, even if she is not a member of the Church. We usually meet once a month, contact the church office for an updated schedule. Each meeting has a program relating to some mission project of UMW as well as conducting business. Knitting Circle
The Knitting Circle has been meeting quite regularly but not always in the same place. Call Ruthie Bedor 802-296-3727 or email ruthbedor@myfairpoint.net if you are interested in fellowshipping with us.
We will be working on making the comfort dolls to send with the Haiti Team in early 2012. You will need sizes 3 & 4 knitting needles. Lots of yarns will be available but if you have small amounts of leftover worsted weight yarns we would love to have them – especially dark brown and black for the bodies and hair!!
Prayer Shawls are also being worked on regularly. Should you know someone that you would like to give a shawl and have the Pastor or Congregation pray over it for the person, please speak with Ruthie Bedor.
