Our Sunday School Staff has adopted “Safe Sanctuary” policies which are a set of widely-accepted guidelines designed to protect both children and teachers. One of these policies for example is to have 2 adults in each classroom!
We're in our third and final year of the "Rock Solid" curriculum and we've got a talented team of teachers, many of whom are returning veterans of the Sunday School classroom. Of course, we can still use some assistant teachers, no experience necessary.
In the coming weeks, we will choose a local cause to support with this year's Sunday School offering, stay tuned for more details. In the spirit of making disciples of Christ, we encourage you to reach out to neighbors and friends in our community with young children and invite them to visit our Sunday School this year! - Leah Wolcott
Teachers are here to help ignite and fuel a spiritual spark in the children they teach thanks in part to a formal Sunday School curriculum called “Rock Solid” which focuses on Christian principles as taught through Jesus
. Kids, of course also like to have fun and the curriculum incorporates hands-on learning activities centered on scripture that’s a highlight for many kids.
According to Matthew’s Gospel, Jesus said: “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you” (28:19-20).
Based on this “Great Commission,” our United Methodist Church has stated its purpose: The mission of the Church is to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.
