The United Methodist Women's Group had their annual Christmas lunch and meeting at the lovely home of Sharon (and Bob) Parker in Grantham. Sharon, known for having a special knack for decorating, had her home all ready for the Christmas holidays and ready to welcome us when we arrived with the sound of Christmas music in the background and delicious aromas coming from the kitchen.
Following a delicious meal the decision was to settled down for the business meeting and save dessert for later.
Pastor Jill opens a surprise from the Parkers that turned out to be a very old Methodist hymnal which really brought a smile when Jill realized what was in the wrapping.
For the program, Pastor Jill and Betsey Peale had selected several Christmas hymns that were written by people in New England and gave the background of each hymn before the group sang it.
And then came dessert and things grew very quiet except for the sounds of contented women as each savored the scrumptious taste of cheese cake and fresh raspberries. Oh my! Another wonderful time together, no doubt about it!!
