UMW Host LISTEN Dinner*
On January 27, the UMW’s group hosted the LISTEN Community dinner that is offered at the church every Friday night. The LISTEN dinner, free to anyone in the community, is hosted by different community groups with folks in our church doing it the last Friday of the month.
The UMW dinner was a huge success with more than 40 dinner guests and about a dozen volunteers enjoying a fantastic meal that included everything from appetizers, salad, a delicious turkey dinner with all the trimmings (including fresh squash) and homemade pies. Pictured below are volunteers in action as they prepare the meal.

Dianne Allard-Langley, pictured above carving the turkey, arrived at 10am to get the four birds into the oven. As the rest of us arrived around 2:45pm the aroma coming from the kitchen soon had our tastebuds working overtime. Ray Pecor, LISTEN's Food Program Coordinator, is pictured in the light blue shirt.

When dessert time came, there was no shortage of many kinds of tempting choices.

The tables were draped in dark blue tablecovers with snowmen centerpieces. Pastor Jill and Betsey Peale played the piano and Jack Ragle played his harmonica. It was a festive time.
