Rerun Shoes Project
The youth group has a new mission project. It is called Rerun Shoes. Rerun Shoes project is a social enterprise with an environmental mission. The program is committed to sustainable development; and its efforts divert usable shoes from landfills and garbage dumps in the US to reuse in African markets. Rerun Shoes supplies usable shoes to small business people in Mali, Guinea and Liberia where they are refurbished and sold. These shoes provide income for small businesses and affordable footwear for the customers.
The youth group will have a large box in the narthex to collect good used shoes- men’s, women’s, sandals, athletic shoes, kid’s shoes, and cleats. These shoes can not have any holes, they must be paired and the African people can not use our winter footwear. When there is enough of an amount the shoes will be delivered to Runners Alley where they will be packaged and shipped out. Please consider cleaning out your closet and helping someone who has less than you do. - Doreen Bowlin
Update- Janurary 2012: ReRun Shoes
By the time you read this, the youth group will have sent off their first round of ReRun Shoes. There were two large boxes and about 70 pair of shoes. Thank you for your help and generosity to this Youth Group Mission Project. Keep those shoes coming!

Report on YOUTH 2011 by Justin Bowlin: YOUTH is the largest gathering of Christian youth in the country. The event is held every four years in a different location every time. This year it was held in two places: Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana and Sacramento, California.
Emily Langley,Lyssa Wright and Justin Bowlin attended the event in Purdue in 2011.
Purdue University is a beautiful campus and a perfect place to host a spectacular event like Youth 2011. Each day, there were many workshops to choose from that people could attend ranging in subjects from faith through music to building team skills to teens finding faith through doubt.
Each afternoon, there was a bible study involving wonderful music from the Rezlife band and a sermon lead by the inspiring Olu Brown and in the evening 3,700 attendees from 250 Methodist churches and 41 states and the Philippines all came together for worship complete with awe-inspiring music provided by Kristian Stanfill and a different mind- blowing speaker each night. The speakers included Fred Lynch, Jim Walker, Motoe Yamada and Zach Hunter.
Youth 2011 was truly a life changing experience for all who attended. It was inspiring to all to go out into the world, help everyone you can, and believe with all your heart, mind, soul, and spirit .
(All Youth grades 4 and up are welcome to our youth events. Please feel free to invite your youth friends to join in these fellowship activities! Contact Tonya McMurray for more information at 603-863-3561 or tonyam@mtfairpoint.net
