At our 2009 Annual Conference each church was challenged to begin one new mission project in 2010. Bishop Weaver will present biblical and theological perspectives on our call to share the Good News and will offer practical guidelines/applications for how to connect to our local communities.

VIM HAITI TEAM Departs for Haiti
The date of the long awaited mission trip has arrived... with the team departing early in the morning for Haiti to help erect a roof on the Croix des Mission. The team returns on September 22.

Spaghetti Supper to support Emily Langley's Mission of Peace to China Trip
Emily has been selected to attend the Mission of Peace to China trip and needs to raise $5,000. The mission group is helping her by sponsoring a spaghetti supper. Come and enjoy a delicious spaghetti meal while at the same time helping Emily meet her goal. Pre-sale of tickets will be announced. Intergenerational Gathering for Women
The UMW welcomes all women of the church to a morning of flower arranging in the Japanese Ikebana tradition. Dorothy Yamashita will lead us in understanding the spirituality of this tradition as we each make our own arrangement. Child care and refreshments will be provided. The focus for the day will include:
What does it mean to be a Welcoming/Reconciling Congregation?
Why should we consider becoming one?
How does a congregation go about doing this?
If we become reconciling, then what do we do?
